The second generation WARN system builds on the foundation of the first generation WARN equipment and adds significant improvements. The second generation system is contained in a single 2RU openGear frame and includes 5 years of warranty and on-call support.
The new WARN system is federally funded and ensures your current and future compliance with the FCC mandate to transmit emergency alert data. Produced by D2D Technologies, the second generation WARN system is fully compatible with all current and planned Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) versions.
The second generation WARN system includes primary and backup hardware and operates transparently with no impact to your station’s video and audio programs. Out of the box, it supports ASI, TSoIP, and optionally, SMPTE 310. The second generation WARN system offers long term reliability, compliance, and support for all public television stations.
Common Questions:
What is the timetable for installation, test and cutover?
- The timetable is up to you. The old system is no longer supported, and we are here to help you when you’re ready. The system has been thoroughly tested, and has been on the air at 9 beta stations for several months. Our recommendation is as soon as you’re ready.

- 2 rack spaces, at least 16” deep with redundant power to install the openGear frame.
